BOY SCOUT COUNCIL NEEDS MONEY TO MODERNIZE CAMPS

WOOD RIVER - Two aging camps and needed office building repairs have Trails West Boy Scout Council leaders seeking a way to raise between $1 million and $3 million.
Concerns that the council might have to sell one of the camps are unfounded, said Tim Garber, Scout executive at Trails West headquarters in Wood River.
"Selling one of them is not on our list of things to do," Garber said. "All we're seeking to do is improve our facilities"
Leaders will present a power-point presentation on fund-raising options at 7 tonight at First Christian Church, 310 S. Main St., Edwardsville. At 7 p.m. Tuesday, the same presentation will be repeated at First Christian Church, 724 E. Bethalto Blvd., Bethalto.
