Sunnen Memories - Post By: Mark Anderson

I attended Camp Sunnen (Troop 57 Greenville) every June from 1971-1977. I also attended numerous OA weekend events/conclaves there too. I'm now the Scoutmaster of my son's troop in a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio.

Memories:

Sunday/Friday night campfires followed by ice cream at the trading post. "Grub Hustlers, go get the food!!" Thursday night steaks. Goog Durbin at the archery range. Getting tapped out by Mike Bilbrey (ouch). The Tucker Twins (Mike/Mark). Rick Hooks as Camp Director. The pitch-dark "click-click-click" as a raccoon or skunk walked across the floorboard of my tent. The Lone Pine (sadly, now gone). A Creek Hike. Berryman Trail (what a long day that was). Never (not once) seeing anyone playing golf on the course across the lake.

Yours In Scouting,
Mark Anderson
