About this web site

Being a camp staff member at Camp Sunnen was a very special and unforgettable experience.  Many friendships were forged there that will last a lifetime.  This site is intended to bridge the miles and years to help keep our staff family more informed and connected than they were before.

This project started when a father simply informed his sons that all he wanted for his 80th birthday was help to set up a fund that would honor a person that had recently passed on - a Boy Scout Executive that he felt had been so very important to his family and community and should not be easily forgotten.

This site is dedicated to the memory of Bill Monical (1926-2001), who tirelessly met new scouts and staff with enthusiasm and an inspiring message, year after year.

Who's behind the site?

In commemoration of his 80th birthday, this site is brought to you through the concept, planning and research of J. Patrick Busch (former scoutmaster of GC Troop 5), his sons Mike, Tom, John and son-in-law Mark Brayer who together have enjoyed 24 combined staff years at Camp Sunnen, with even more years as scouts and scoutmasters.
